Q: A California resident is coming to Minnesota for a hunting trip and wants to ship his rifle to us to hold for him. I’m assuming if he ships it to himself c/o our store we would not open the box or enter the firearm into our books and simply hand him the rifle if he shows us some ID. Basically the same procedure that would be followed if he shipped it to a hotel. Are there any CA rules against this? What about Federal? Is there an alternate procedure to follow?
