Q: Regarding the Abramski decision; Does this prohibit the purchase of a firearm as a gift? 1) A purchaser finds an older .22 pump action rifle in our inventory and says he wants to purchase it. While filling out the 4473 form, he casually engages the sales clerk in conversation and says: “I’m buying this for my nephew who just turning 13; it’s just like the one his grandpa gave to his dad and me when we were that age; I’m headed up to their place for his birthday next week and I’ll give it to him then, he’ll love it.” Does this statement place any burden upon us to decline the sale, as we now have knowledge he intends to deliver the firearm to another person?
