Q: We have a customer who is trying to purchase a handgun. He has a New York State Pistol Permit with an address for property he owns in New York. However, his driver’s license is for Florida and has a Florida address on it. He said he has dual residency in both states because his work requires him to go to Florida. We contacted the pistol clerks office that issued his permit and they said his Pistol Permit is valid. He also said he has a non driver ID for New York with his New York address. What would he put for his residence address though on a 4473 with dual residency and should we transfer this firearm to him?
