Q: On 06-30-2015 one of our team members ran a NICS check for a Mr. Joe Cameron Hester. The NICS check would have included Mr. Hester’s Social Security Number, as it was provided to us on the 4473. However, today, 07-10-2015, we were conducting audits on all previously completed 4473’s and noticed that the NICS Check was submitted as “Cameron Joe”. We verified that other NICS Check print-outs correctly showed the order of people’s first and last names (i.e. “John Q Smith” and not Q John), so I feel that this information was submitted to NICS with the middle name and the last name out of order. What should we do at this point, if anything?
