Q: We submitted a NICS E Check on Saturday and then realized we transposed one of the numbers in the customers date of birth. Since we realized that we did not transfer the firearm. We tried to contact NICS but could not get ahold of them until today Monday. They told us to write NO SALE next to the transaction number and re run the transaction. NICS advised that we should have contacted them within 24 hours and that they could no longer cancel the transaction. NICS advised we should have emailed them. We did not realize there was an email option to contact them. They would not give us any advice on whether to have the customer fill out a new 4473 or somehow use the first form the customer filled out. We need to know how to proceed?
