Q: We had a sale a couple weeks ago with a “proceed” from PICS. The transaction number was recorded in the 4473. When we were doing our weekly reconciliation of our PICS transaction numbers from that week, this number did not appear on their list. We waited a week and the number was not on the list that week either. We then contacted PICS and were informed that it was not a valid number. However, it appears to fall into sequence with all our other PICS transaction numbers from that time period. We have had issues with PICS in the past and this is why we call in our transactions, instead of doing them electronically. Since we have already contacted PICS and they say the number is not valid, what do we do next?
