Q: Our question is in reference to the latest NICS update email we received notifying us to the changes that will occur Oct 9, 2018. If needed we can forward the full email to you. My question is in regards to the following noted in the letter: “Require the submitting user to attest they have reviewed the ATF Form 4473? Does the descriptive information in Section A exactly match the valid government-issued photo identification document(s) provided to you AND do questions 11b through 11i and 12b and 12c have a “No” response?? My concern would be with the wording that we have to attest the the descriptive information in section A exactly matches the information on the form. Specifically height and weight can fluctuate and if weight is slight different on the form from what the ID says we would not be able to attest it exactly matches. We also have instances where a customer has a full legal middle name which is noted on the form, for example middle name John, but on the ID just a J is shown. Additional information would be appreciated.
