NFA – Wrong FFL Number on Approved Form 3

posted on January 18, 2019

Q: I recently received an approved Form 3 back from the NFA Branch on a M-11 Machinegun. As I was reviewing all of my paperwork to begin the transfer to Buhler Ballistics, I discovered a discrepancy on the Form 3. In Block 4 of the Form 3, the first 6 digits of the FFL are listed as “572003”. In fact, the actual FFL of Buhler Ballistics first 6 digits are “572033”. Should we seek to somehow correct this discrepancy on the Form 3 before transferring and mailing the machinegun to Buhler Ballistics? How should we proceed? Complicating matters somewhat is that the SOT for their 2017 year expires on June 30, 2017 (though I’m sure they have renewed their SOT for the 2018 year).
