NFA – Separate Bound Book

posted on January 18, 2019

Q: Our company has just obtained an FFL to transfer NFA items. We have not brought any into inventory yet and are wanting to know what our options are for having a separate bound book to track the acquisition and disposition of NFA items separately from the “normal” firearm inventory. Our current bound book is integrated with our POS system. I am also reaching out to our software people to see if the POS software is capable of supporting multiple bound books. This is the first time the company has dealt with NFA items and we want to make sure we do it right the first time as there is no room for error when dealing with highly regulated items. Thank you for any input you may have.
