Q: One of our rental silencers (for use on-site in our range) was damaged and needs to be returned to the manufacturer for repairs. I do not know if the silencer will be repairable or if it will need to be replaced (as this assessment will be made by the silencer company once its in their possession). What is the entire process I need to follow, in order to return this silencer to the manufacturer for repairs? I am particularly interested in knowing any forms that require approval by ATF beforehand and how I should log the silencer out / in to my A&D Log. I searched for the solution before asking, and I found answers that were similar to my question. However, after reading them I do not understand the entire process that is required. Thank you.
