Q: We have had a couple of instances lately that I would like to know the legal answer to. We had a customer who had guns here for repair that has a legal case against him that he owes someone money. The sheriff called us and wanted to know if the customer had any guns here for repair. We said yes, but that he had not paid for the repairs and they were staying here until he paid our bill. The customer said that the fact that he had guns here for repair is confidential and we should not have told the sheriff they were here. What should we have done or do in the future?
