Q: Regarding your recent E-Blast regarding the lack of a model on Henry Rifles we had a few questions on how to fix our affected entries in our A&D books. Is it permissible to draw a single line through the incorrect model, write none, and initial the change? How far back should we go to fix the affected entries? Last audit? We are concerned with fixing the affected entries that are sold as they are not currently in our inventory. We absolutely do not want to guess. While on the subject of A&D book corrections, what is the best practice to correct a line that has been errantly logged out. Do you draw a line through the errant disposition, use the next available line in your A&D book, and reference the original entry? If we are to use the next available line the date will be out of order. Will this causes issue with the ATF? We clearly don?t want to have a violation. We also would like a best practice on correcting a clerical error on a form 4473. If the original associate who filled the form out is unavailable is it permissible for another associate to photocopy the page with the error, correct the information on the copy, initial it, and file it with the 4473?
