Licensee – Retention of Legible Copy of FFL

posted on January 18, 2019

Q: Can you confirm this statement: There is no requirement per ATF regulations and US code you keep a copy. > Begin forwarded message: “That is ridiculous and I’m called for. You can clearly see the required FFL to verify we are an 07 FFL in the FFL we sent you. There is no requirement per ATF regulations and US code you keep a copy. Even if you want to print a copy and keep it when you print the copy in color you can read everything you need to see in order to verify the information. As well you can double verify our information and FFL on the ATF FFL verification page. “Again, we do not release copies of our unblocked FFL due to Other FFLs not securing the information as they need to and non-licensee personnel getting copies of our unblocked FFL and illegally using it to purchase firearms. We do this to protect ourselves and our business. Per our IOI and Lawyer this is completely legal and does not in anyway deter, delay or hinder a transfer I us by any other Licensee.”
