Licensee – FreshStart

posted on January 18, 2019

Q: As you know we are currently in the process of closing out the books for our old store. During our examination of the 4473s we have come across some issues that need to be addressed before we forward these records to the ATF. During the first few months of operations, Jack was unaware that the Oklahoma Concealed Carry Permit could not be used in place of a NICS number. Therefore, we have several 4473s that are missing this number. How should this error be corrected? We have also come come across some 4473s in which the customer’s background check was delayed but there is no proceed date and no secondary customer signature on the actual date they received the firearm. Thirdly, we have one instance of the use of an out of state drivers licence and an in state utility bill for the purchase of a pistol. Lastly, we have noted 4473s used for the purchase of multiple pistols but no corresponding multiple sales paperwork can be located.
