Q: We have an ex-employee who the owner would like to consider re-hiring but since leaving our company they had issues with drugs, gone to rehab and now appear to be on the correct path and looking for a job. Knowing the Federal limitations on allowing access to firearms for “illegal drug users” we wanted to check with you to see what our options were. How long should we wait before they are longer considered a “user of illegal drugs”? Will ATF accept regular drug screenings as proof of no longer being a drug user? What other issues should we be concerned with and address?
