Q: Our store is on the border with New Jersey and New York state and we have many customers who have vacation homes in our area. In Pennsylvannia you can convert your drivers license from another state with little oversite by the state DOT. We regularly get customers to purchase firearms who have a newly issued Pa. state drivers license. In some cases the same date as the license was issued. Is there any regulation regarding how long a state issued ID has to valis for before it can be used to purchase a firearm. It seems odd that the first thing someone would do after leaving the DMV is buy a firearms unless they are trying to circumvent the laws of neighboring states.
