Q: We have a local county agency that is not a LEO agency (San Joaquin County Public Guardian/Conservators Office) they take legal guardianship over people who can no longer care for themselves, essentially POA as an agency and sell their assets to pay for their care. In this process they acquire guns and would like to sell them, however we are unsure as to how we can receive them legally through the California Firearms Dealer Acquisition System or if there is another way to receive them into our bound book. In a related question the Sheriff’s/Coroners office also has a large number of guns that they would like us to sell as well, I believe that there is a way to acquire these guns since they are coming from an agency but I’d like to know the correct way to do this as well.
