Q: I tried to send this to you yesterday, but I think it got lost in transmission somehow… Customer stopped in to our store. We are located in Michigan. He wanted to purchase a long gun over the counter. He presented a current state of Alaska driver’s license featuring a Michigan address on it’s face which seemed fairly unusual. He did not possess a Michigan id although he says he lives in Michigan at the address on the id. He said he votes in Alaska. His reason for having the Alaska id was due to various benefits he receives with it. What is your opinion on making this sale? For what it’s worth, an ATF inspector called for another matter so I asked this question to her. Verbally, her response was that there was no issue with federal law. What is your opinion?
