Q: We had a customer come in and purchase a rifle. He completed a 4473 and NICS check, and the result was a Proceed. We called the customer back in to pick up the firearm. We completed the 4473 and he paid for the firearm. The employee who handled the transaction was momentarily called away. At that point, the customer picked up the firearm and the 4473, and left the store with them both. Now, we don’t have a copy of the 4473 for this transaction, nor do we have a copy of the customer’s ID. What do we do?
