Q: In the course of our 4473 reviews, we pulled out a 4473 where the customer changed their answer on question 11a. The sales person said the customer was 88-years old and struggled to read the form, but did correct the answer on his own. We recognize that while we do not believe this customer to be a prohibited person, the transaction should not have moved forward once the customer answered the question incorrectly. Our question is – what type of violation does this represent, what type of penalty is typically levied for a violation like this, and what action(s) should we take at this point?
