Q: We ordered a gun from a distributor that was shipped UPS. Both the distributor and UPS show that the package was delivered with our daily shipments and signed for by one of our employees. We have no record of that gun ever being in our building (no log book entry, invoice or packaging). We were given the serial number for the gun from the distributor and the carrier claim number but this gun was never logged in. Do we file an inventory lost/stolen firearm report or an Interstate Firearms Shipment Theft/Loss Report? Would it be in our best interest to contact the local field office and explain the situation or just file a report?
