Q: I have a kid under the age of 21 that sent me an email regarding a California specific Handgun Safety Card issue. I would like to send the email to you. My policy in this instance is that we do not issue Handgun Safety Cards to anyone under the age of 21. ( My fear is that if we do that, some kid under the age of 21 may be able to obtain a handgun under false pretenses and I do not want my shop tied to anything like that.) I understand that it is excessive and paranoid but that’s just the way I feel. I am aware that it is legal to issue a Handgun Safety Card to someone under 21 and over the age of 18, but I want to make sure that my policy is legal. How should I respond to his email in the mean time? Should I tell him I’m waiting for my attorney to get back to me?
