A&D – Unintentional Firearm Swap

Q: We have a pistol available as part of our rental program. Two months ago, a customer brought her pistol in, worried something was wrong with it. We sat it down next to the rental gun (same make and model) and somehow, she picked up the rental gun instead of her own. We just discovered the swap and are wondering how to correct the situation. The customer is available to come into the store any day this week. Please advise.
