A&D – Recording Paired/Bundled Firearms

posted on January 18, 2019

Q: We inventory several SKUs from Sig that are bundled items containing two firearms. For example, item #E26R40EXTREME2S contains two firearms?.a P226 and P290. Our system makes it difficult to break the singular item number out into two separate records in our A&D. As a result, the A&D is recording ?P226 & P290? as the model and ?.40 S&W/9MM LUGER? as the caliber for each serial number for that item. Depending on the serial number, it is either a P226 or P290 not both?and the same for the caliber, it is either one or the other. I realize that the A&D is by serial number and not item number thereby requiring a single model and caliber listing for each. When discussing this issue internally someone mentioned that the same question was asked at the AcuSport BC by a retailer and a possible solution was offered by someone at FFLGuard using a message in the NOTES field. Is there a way to universally record these items using the NOTES field or must they be entered with specific information representing the independent firearm?
