Q: We purchased a used firearm from an individual and there is a discrepancy on existing labels on the box from either another gun store or possibly even the importer. The firearm says “Canik by Century Arms”. Also there is a small stamp on the side that says “Made in Turkey”. Imported by “Century Arms Inc Georgia,VT”. Model is a “TP9SA”. The firearm has a series of numbers and letters marked on the side of the frame and the same set on the side of the barrel hood as follows: T6472-14 AP 07546. However on the box there is a label that says “Firearm S/N”: then a bar code with just “14AP07546” typed underneath the bar code. On the side of the box is another label no bar code with the “T6472-14 AP 07546 Canik TP9 SA Black.” Do I log the firearm in with the longer set that is on the firearm and barrel hood or the shorter set of numbers and letters as that is what I infer Century Arms Inc logged the firearm in as? Also with the provided information would putting “Canik by Century Arms” as manufacturer in bound book be correct then Century Arms Inc?
