Federal Firearms Licensees (“FFL’s”) are under fire like never before.
Increased and more invasive ATF compliance audits, coupled with lawsuits filed against dealers by the mayors of various municipalities and anti-gun groups, are targeting the businesses and livelihood of every FFL in the country.
And if the current political climate is any indication, the legal onslaught isn’t soon to cease.
FFLGuard is a compliance program (“the Program”) run by firearms attorneys, who employ various subject matter experts, professionals and para-professionals from a consulting company, FFLGuard LLC, all of whom are specialists in the area of firearms law and ATF/firearms compliance. The FFLGuard Program protects its clients’ FFLs through delivering PROACTIVE compliance services in the most effective business model in the firearms compliance world: Advocacy and Risk Management (“ARM”). The “ARM” business model provides the greatest possible protection for an FFL in a world where risk-aversion to losing your license should be top priority.
Our ARM business model promotes the implementation of FFLGuard’s battle-tested compliance plan, which also shares the “ARM” acronym (watch the 2 minute video here): Assess-Remediate-Maintain (“ARM”) Process. Through our compliance plan, clients subscribe to FFLGuard’s heightened standards and “best-in-class” practices (one notch up from industry-supported “best-practices”) to insulate themselves from business interruption because of poor compliance levels. For a yearly fee, Program participants get Basic Services to help maintain their compliance levels on a day-to-day basis, while also gaining access to Additional Services that help further bolster compliance.
By following FFLGuard’s Law Plus Guidelines, participants in the Program share in one, aligned joint defense effort, and rely on legal counsel (attorney Christopher M. Chiafullo, FFLGuard’s National Coordinating Counsel) to oversee the organization-wide effort by the FFLGuard team to assist, counsel, and provide legal support for the client collective.
Clients who participate in the Program gain strength by joining hundreds of other FFL’s as part of a “best-in-class fraternity.” Through shared financial and intelligence resources, and collective use of FFLGuard personnel as on-call team of risk-managers, compliance officers, and general counsel, FFLGuard proactively guards hundreds of FFL’s from costly reactive expenses associated with license problems and revocations.
