Q: We are building a new indoor shooting range and recently broke ground. We’re expecting to open the doors in April. I’d like to know how it works regarding our FFL. If I understand things correctly, it would be best to get a new FFL. However, how would that work logistics wise regarding when we take possession of the new building and have access to be inside to start moving in? Our first thought was to just do a transfer of our existing FFL and essentially shut down for a month while that process happens since it will likely be faster on the ATF’s side of things. We’re going to need to move into the building anyway getting computers ready, doing the walk through, testing every switch and things in the new building to make sure everything is working properly. But if I could get a new FFL, from my understanding, that is the preferred way to handle this. I just don’t know how to make it all work. Please let me know your thoughts so we can do this as easily and efficiently as possible.
